Well I never, he named his his first son Thomas , so was he a Thomas ? his second son was a James, he did have a son named Christopher .

Hi Gadget, he was born approx 1819 -1822, however, on his death cert 1897 he is stated to be 73 at that time, making his birth abt 1824, I do think this is wrong, as on his second wed cert in 1854 he is 32.

Thanks for your reply, thought I may be grasping at straws. I was thinking of getting intouch with Edinburgh to see if they would carry out a search.
There is a LDS office in Livepool I could give them a call to see if they can come up with the films.

I've waited for the full 1841 census to come on line in the hope of finding Christopher Buchanan , but I seem to have waited in vain as I can't find him.
Found  a record of  his first sons christening in Middlebie DFS 1843, Thomas Buchanan mother Jean Blacklock. 
Found Christopher on the 1891 back to the 1851 census in England, his place of birth on all is Dumfries.
In 1852 Jane (Jean) dies in the village of Cartmel , Ulverston. 1854 Christopher weds for a second time in Cartmel on the wed cert he names his father as James Buchanan occupation Farmer, Christopher is down as a Shepherd.

Can't find his birth or first marriage in the OPRs at Scotlandspeople site, going by the English census he was born between 1819 and 1821.
 
My only hope now is to try to find him on the 1831 census living with his father somehere in Dumfries, can someone help me with this please.

Thanks for your reply, my geography isn't that good when it comes to the districts in Yorkshire, Wilberfoss well might be the place.

I can't travel to Yorkshire, was hoping someone had access to marriage index's for York.However, I could perhaps ask for a search at Nth Allerton R O. ::)

Looking for a marriage between Luke Jones  and a Sarah ?  about 1807-1809.

Their first child Mary was christened at Wheldrake York  in 1809, so hoping that the marriage will be found there. Luke's age would be about 23 -25 at that time.
 
A further four children were christened at Holy Trinity, Micklegate ,York, between 1815-1822 .

Luke was born in Masham but a marriage is not recorded in the parish records. Sarah's birth place is unknown, on the 1841 census she is recorded at her daughter Mary's home in Wheldrake, her birth place is not clear, looks like Willberstreet Yorkshire.

Hope someone can help.

Can someone help with 1841 census details for the  Bradford, Morley area.HO107 1296/1 F13   for Luke Jones age 55  b masham .

Also 1841 for York, York  area H0 107 1355/10 F10 for Sarah Jones  age 50? not sure of place of birth.
 
If this is the Sarah that I'm looking for, on the 1851 census place of birth was not clear but looked like Wellbestreet , I've herd of a Well but not Welbestreet.

Both Luke and Sarah are together on the 1851 census but I was informed that she was not with Luke on the 1841 index . The couple started having their family in York, hoping that the above ref will show her perhaps staying with relatives.
Any help with the above will be appreciated.

This family are living in Leeds, Borough of Leeds.

Jonas Wilson  age 55
Eliza   Wilson  age 50
William   .. ..    age 20
Ann         ..  ..  age 15
Jonas       ..  ..  age 13
Grace       ..  ..  age 11

There is another Grace Wilson  age 11 indexed on her own in Halifax Morley . ref:  H0107/1302/6  F37

I'm looking for the birth/christ of Luke Jones born Masham
1784. His place of birth was found on the 1851 census in the Horton area of Bradford.

Can anyone search the records of Masham Parish for Luke and any possible family members, siblings and parents are unknown.

Anything about Luke would be appreciated.
