I was tempted to think of Fawdry's Buildings as being a tenement or court, but where I used to live, there were short rows of houses referred to as 'X Buildings'. They were mostly of early to mid-C19th build so may have been the fashion then?

I've seen the enumerator's description mentioned before. Where do you find it? If it helps, I use Ancestry.

Thanks!

I was looking for William Squire in 1851. I've been drawing a blank but eventually found him misspelled as 'Squier' The other family members are listed by initials, so they weren'tmuch help.

Thanks again!

Thanks everyone, for some reason I haven't been able to find them on the 1851 census, only the 1861. Should I look again using the other names at the address?

Hi All,

According to my ancestor's baptismal records, his family were living at Fawdry's Buildings, All Saints, Birmingham. I've tried looking at various maps from a little later but cannot see anything.

Would anyone have any idea where this might have been?

Thanks!
