I am researching a McClelland family and I've discovered a David Harbison McClelland born Jan-Mar 1915 on familysearch.org listed under "Ireland, Civil Registration Index 1845-1958".  Does anyone know how I can obtain a copy birth certificate using this index info?  I am very familiar with how to obtain a UK birth certificate but not so with Irish.  Can it be done online with just the index info provided?  It appears that this birth was registered in Dublin.

Not sure why you said it was registered in Dublin - birth actually shown with Belfast registration.
Perhaps you that the index reference was that for GRO Dublin.

You can view this record on the General Register Office Northern Ireland online site geni.nidirect.gov.uk

You need to register and purchase credits before you can use this facility.
Note: only 1 first name can be inputted.

This is the index result for David:
U/1915/49/1007/147/331   David   McClelland   20th January 1915   Male   Harbison   Belfast(pre-1973 Q4)

David had a brother, Thomas Francis born 1919, but the 100 year limitation on GRO births does not allow it to be viewed.

Mother's surname on marriage record was HARBINSON but name misinterpretations were common.

Wonder if Andrew and wife Sarah Jane Thompson are the ones that lived at Whitehall Parade Belfast.  Andrew died 1943 and Sarah died 1949, both buried Dundonald Cemetery.  His occupation was a Saddler.

NOT your Thompson family.  This family were in Belfast in 1911 [children omitted, all born Belfast]

United States of America / Re: Edward Kell Kennedy
« on: Saturday 23 May 15 02:16 BST (UK)  »
Help! I do not know where to start! I am trying to trace my mother's cousin, Edward Kell Kennedy, who emigrated to Canada and then moved to Punta Gorda in Florida. Edward was born in 1916 in larne, Northern Ireland, and married Elizabeth Gordon in 1953 in Northern Ireland. He emigrated in the late 1950s/early 1960s. He had one son, (*).

Although Edward's birth record has not been viewed, it would be a fair assumption to say that he was the son of Robert Kennedy and Mary Jane Kell [Kells in marriage record] who were married in Larne District on 19 June 1903.
Census of 1911 shows family at house 14 Newington Avenue, Larne.
Robert was absent from house; wife Mary Jane, daughters Maggie & Mary [twins] and Annie Kennedy and Mary Jane's brothers Edward, Robert and Samuel Kell.

Census of 1901 shows Kells (sic) family at house 55 in Old Glenarm Road, Larne.
Head is Edward Kells and there is also another son Alexander present.
Edward is a widower, [his wife's name was Jane Craig and they were married on 22 Nov 1875 in Larne district.]

Nothing yet for Robert Kennedy except that his occupation was "fireman" on daughter Annie's birth certificate and that his father's name was John Kennedy.

A Mary Kennedy, father Robert, married Thomas McMorran, father Matthew, on 15 October 1920 in Larne.

My great-great grandparents, John and Martha (Agnew) Girvan were married on 22 Dec 1846 at Raloo Presbyterian Meeting House, Raloo Parish, Antrim County, Ireland.

This would appear to be a record from the Non-Subscribing Presbyterian [aka Unitarian] Church.

There were at least 2 Raloo men named John Girvan/Girvin in the 1820s - one resided at Altilevelly and the other at Ballyryland. Gleno is a village located at junction between Ballyryland and Ballywillin.

Yes this is James and I have all his war records, thanks.

Can you confirm that these Gough brothers, sons of William Gough and Margaret Davis, were born in Larne:  Samuel 16 Feb 1884 and James 27 Dec 1890. Also that the family was Methodist.

Information required for Tribute to Larne men killed in WW1.
