There's an Elizabeth Simpson who was buried in Howden on 05 November 1877. Abode is given as Keldgate Hospital but she's aged 77 years which would give her a birthdate of around 1800 and would therefore be too young if your stated age of 76 in 1871 is correct.


An Elizabeth Simpson (wife of George Simpson) was buried on 19 March 1874 aged 65 years in Howden. Abode is given as 'Booth'. Again too young if your 1871 information is correct.


ColC's entry which is for someone born around 1794 doesn't appear to fit with the 1871 census information that you mention either.


Are you sure of the abt 1796 birthdate? What ages are listed for her on the censuses of 1861 and 1851?
