Thanks for your reply

The article that I have was made by A.E.Westbrook and he has his service no. 96768 engraved on  it.
I have checked this on the War Records site. It is a cover for a matchbox made of brass. I am hoping
that someone claims it. I know it is a small thing but it was obviously made with love.

I have in my possession a small token that was given to my uncle during the 1914 1918 war. It was made by A Westbrook  who was a Bombadier in the Royal Garrison Artillery. Although it is small and not very valuable it would be nice to pass it on to
any relatives of his.

Hi Tracy

Looking at Kellys Directories I can see that Herbert Reginald German was living at
22 Glynrhondda Street until about 1932 or maybe a bit later some of them were missing.
In the 1937 directory and from then on he is at Sherwood Ty Winch Road.
There are a lot of houses in this road and I  assume that these were built in the  30s.

I did go to the Glamorgan Archives on Friday but they were closed for alterations maybe
at a later date I could go there again and see if I can find any more information for you

I
Hello

I have just looked at Kellys Diretory for 1967 and Tyrwynch Road seems to be just off
Newport Road. Only one property mentioned
a Thomas Clifford living at Lynch Gate House.
Perhaps somebody else may have a previous Directory it may contain other information.

Hi Ray

Yes that is my family.
I have quite a lot of records but the only thing that I cannot confirm is the year that
Elizabeth was born and her parents.
Looking at the 1841 census it shows that she was born in 1811 but all others indicate 1816/
1817.
The information on Ancestry  about her parents  cannot be correct because it shows the mother's birth date  as 1806

Her daughter Jane's second name is Talbot which is unusual.

As I said before I am finishing this reply now as I may get cut off at any time so I have to keep it short.

Kind regards

Slyvia
