Dear Trish,
Just noticed that, there you are, living in Australia, helping me, a Scottish person, living in England, to find my ancestors, in Scotland. All a bit crazy, isn't it?
Nevertheless, many thanks.

Dear Trish,
Thank you very much for info. I will read it carefully before I do any more searching on SP. Doesn't it seem a bit strange that,  the less information you give, the more likely you are  to get results.
Thanks again,
Skye

Trying to find DC. of Annie(Ann) Steel.n. Jamieson(or variants). She was b.1844/45 to Ninian Jamison and Mary Barr in Kilwinning or Lochwinnoch. She married William Steel in New Cumnock 16/6/1871.I've tried all sorts of combinations on Scotlands' People but to know avail. Very grateful for any help.

Many thanks for replies. Difficult to make out but I would say,"yes", it says widow living at, what looks like, 96 Road Side. Doesn't bode well does it? I somehow can't give up on Robert. Thank you for your help.

Dear Jean,
Cannot thank you enough. After more than a year I have found Rebekah's DC using your suggested method. Yes! That was my Rebecca you found. Poor woman ended up as a pauper on the 1851 census. Looks very much as if Robert was dead by then. Probably a daft question but is there any way of finding out about DC's pre 1855. Thought of going to Montrose Library??
          Many, many thanks again.
  Yours,
          Skye.
