Thanks bbart.

Louis might have married Sylvia in BC. Am guessing the other two must have died.

In Harry's death notice, Winnifred and Frank are his children, the others are Sophia's from her first marriage.

Have found Harry and Sophia on Findagrave, along with Winnifred and an older daughter Annie.

Frank Albert LUCAS was born 18 Aug 1898 in Toronto, son of Harry Richardson LUCAS and Sophie HARVEY, who married at Toronto 1890.

On 14 Oct 1931 at Toronto, Frank married Christina DAVIS, born 2 Mar 1899.

They had one known daughter that I have been able to find, Christina Mae LUCAS 1933-1990.

Can anyone find deaths for Frank and Christina. They both appear in electoral roll in 1965 so after that.

Were there any more children? If so they may still be alive.

Thanks

Thanks mckha489 and Milliepede.

Mary Ann Jarrett was baptised 8 Jun 1838 at Rye. Birth registered there Jun qtr 1838, so would be 32 in 1871. The Mary Ann who died 1866 aged 31 I think would be too old.

Back then any mother that had problems after child birth or losing a child tended to get put in places like that.

As I said earlier James was married in 1871, not widowed.

Wonder if there was a M.A.L. in the same place in 1881 and 1891, as James was still married in those censuses as well.

Thanks amondg.

As Mary Ann wasn't in the 1871 census there is every chance she had died, although no sign of a death on GRO or FreeBMD, plus the census does not say James is widowed.

Have also not been having much luck in finding deaths for the parents either, James and Mary Ann.

James is with his parents in Rye in 1871 with children Henry and Elizabeth, no wife. His occupation is mariner.

I believe he is in Durham in 1881 on board ship, and in Southampton in 1891.

They did have another child, James born march qtr 1866 West Ashford, same place as daughter Elizabeth in 1864. I believe this James was buried in Rye on 20 Sep 1866 aged 9mths.

Thanks

Sarah's birth was registered Jun qtr 1860 at Rye, baptised at Rye 25 July 1860, first child of James LUCAS and Mary Ann JARRETT, who married at Rye on 11 Sep 1859.

Can find her with her parents and LUCAS grandparents in Rye in 1861, but then she disappears. No death between then and 1871 in Rye or anywhere around there that would fit. There is a death for a Sarah LUCAS in Rye in 1877, but that is her grandmother, born Sarah RICHARDSON in Brede in 1814.

She only appears on a couple of trees on Ancestry, unlike her two younger siblings Henry/Harry Richardson LUCAS and Elizabeth LUCAS. Harry migrated to Toronto in Canada and is fairly well documented. Elizabeth married Albert Edward TURNER in 1887 and they are fairly well documented.

Hoping some fresh eyes can find Sarah.

Thanks
