Hi Fellow Researchers,
I am looking for the descendants of John O'Brien and Deborah Mary Cahill who were married in Tralee, County Kerry in 1882. The registry indicates that both fathers were named John.

According to John's death certificate he was born in Killarney (not able to establish a John O'Brien born Killarney, Kerry Ireland) whilst Deborah was born in Aldershot England (no records for Deborah's birth due to the bombings of England during WW11). They arrived in Queensland about 1883. From the birth certificates of their children, John, appears to have worked for the Central Railway for a time. John died in Rockhampton Queensland in 1934 whilst Deborah died in Mount Morgan Queensland in 1914.

Children born to the marriage were: John Joseph 1884 - never married - d 1885: Edward 1885 - m 1913 Mary Ann Ahern - d 1963; Joseph 1887 - m 1918 Lillian Jane Allen - d 1950: Mary 1889 - m 1908 David Black Parsons - d 1959: John Patrick 1890 - m 1917 Maud Fleming - d 1981: William James 1891 - never married - d 1968: Deborah Isabella 1893 - never married - d 1893: Alexander Norman 1894 - m 1920 Lillian May Allenby - d 1989: Sydney Smith 1899 - m 1923 Amy Beatrice Bell - d 1970.

If anyone has any information on the above people, it would be much appreciated as the family of Edward is trying to organise a reunion in 2017.

Cheers from Jenny

Thanks davidft

I have checked out all the the sites on the net and as you say none have Alexander burials for Frinsted, hence my coming onto roots chat.

Whilst references to the burials of Joesph and Thomas are on a paid family history site, neither is sourced and I tend not to contact the people unless they have a source where they can direct me to go to to get my own copy.

Unfortunately, all the parishes I require from the Kent Arch show the parishes as 'Vacant'. This is a shame for me but for those who families hailed from parishes that have moderators, they are very lucky. The moderators deserve a 'big thanks' for all their hard work in providing such information for which a lot of people should be grateful.

Having rambled on, I do however appreciate your swift reply.

Cheers!............Jenny

Hi Everyone
Don't know if this is the correct site but here goes. I am researching the above man and his family and I noticed that people on a paid family history site have him buried in 1790 along with his wife Lydia 1824. The same people have Thomas and his wife Henrietta buried in the same cemetery. I am also trying to locate the grave of John Alexander, died 1848, and his wife Mary (nee Bing), who died 1830. I believe that Thomas is John's son.

Can anyone please advise who I can contact to get either of copy of the transcript of the burials or a photo of the graves. I believe that the graves are in St Dunstan's Frinsted Cemetery, but as everything is unsourced I am not sure but they do mention that Joseph's grave is located just inside the gate to the left.

Cheers!.............Jenny

Kent / Amy Alexander
« on: Tuesday 22 April 14 02:46 BST (UK)  »
Hi Everyone,
I am trying to trace the family of Amy Alexander who was born abt 1784 in Wychling, Kent. Amy, daughter of John Alexander and unknown, firstly married David Russell in Bobbing Kent in 1823. Upon the death of David in Feb 1844 Amy married her longtime lover Thomas Tickner. I say longtime lover as David and Amy had separated by the time their third child was bapisted (Edward born abt 1830). Amy had other children after Edward was born in which she is named as being their mother but a lot of the baptisms indicate that she and David had been separated for some years. The registers also say David was living in Lenham and was employed as a blacksmith. The census show only one David Russell in Lenham and he was married to an Elizabeth Burton: so this is not my David.

Of Amy's children I have managed to find who they married but it is Amy and her siblings that I am trying to trace. I am not sure but she may have had a brother Thomas who was born abt 1781.

If there is anyone researching Thomas Tickner (widower) and Amy Russell (widow) who married August 1844 in Newnham and can shed some light on Amy's parentage, it would be much appreciated.

Cheers!............Jenny

Hi bearkat

I have had a look at ancestry and have found that some families have Edward marrying either Mary Pain or Mary Booker (Ash By Wrotham). The common denominator in all this is that they have David born 1791 married to Elizabeth Burton. The 1841 census also has David and Elizabeth living in Lenham as a family unit. 'Brick Walls' - one of the families have to be incorrect. I also have a feeling that one of the Marys either Pain or Booker will be mine: but finding proof is not going to be easy.

Once again thanks for your help.

Cheers!.........Jenny

Hi bearkat

Thanks so much for your reply. You information has been invaluable to me as I can now rule out this family. I really was hoping against all hope that 'James' may not have been David's father as I am looking for an Edward from that area who had a son David (born abt 1796) who in turn married Amy Alexander in Bobbing Kent in 1823.

Whilst I have managed to find information on the fractured family of David and Amy and family, David's parentage is proving to be a brick wall.

Once again thanks for your help.

Cheers!

Hi Everyone,

I am trying to trace the family of DAVID RUSSELL, yeoman, who married MARY BRITCHER, a minor, on 7 Sep 1784 in Charing. David's parents were possibly James Russell and Elizabeth Brenchley who married in Charing on 29 Mar 1752.

Thanks Aghadowey.

No reason, just covering bases. I have tended to find, people born in one place, married in another and died in another and just sometimes a family member will contact me and we have a common ancestor and I am able to pass on information and vice versa.

I hope I haven't upset anyone as that was not my attention.

Thanks for the info: it is much appreciated.

Cheers!........Jenny
