« on: Sunday 02 October 16 12:28 BST (UK)  »
Hi there,

I've had no luck locating a marriage for John Hannigan and Annie McCrory. Their first child was born in Omagh in 1899. Can anyone find any possibles?

Cheers, Holly

I posted a message for help on the Tyrone board last night with their names but haven't had a reply. Their names are John Hannigan & Isabella Doherty. Married Nov 1870. (There is no exact date in the register.)

Cheers, Holly

Thank you bookbox.

That wouldn't explain why a civil record can't be found, would it? I'll have to keep looking.

Cheers,

It's from the marriage listing in the parish records. I haven't been able to find the civil listing of the marriage. It seems to be near where the priests name is. There are little notes on some of the marriages.

The first word i believe is Gillygooly, a place in Omagh. The second could be a priests name Campbell? It's the second line I can't work out completely. I was thinking dispensation required? and i can't work out the last word.

Tyrone / Marriage in parish register but not civil?
« on: Saturday 01 October 16 16:34 BST (UK)  »
Hi there,

I've found a marriage listed in parish records for a John Hannigan and Isabella Doherty in November 1870 (I've attached it here). However I can't find the marriage in the civil records to be able to get the certificate and get the details. I've been able to locate the couples above and below, but not them. Does anyone know why the would not appear?

Cheers, Holly

If someone died 2003 why not name her??

Because the search is somewhat sensitive. The woman who died in 2003 is the half sister of the person I am searching for, but never knew. Her father had an affair. We want information on him, but don't want to impact on the family or anything. Just simply looking for information to confirm his age etc so we can go backwards.

I'll have a look there, but we aren't really looking to contact living people. The father had an affair and had a child from that. We aren't trying to impact on the family, just find out information about him and his ancestors so that she can know about the family she never knew.

Cheers, Holly
