It is a bit of a slow process, but the Norfolk parish records are browsable on family search.
This should get you straight to the parishes.

Thank you very much for this LINK - it's very helpful, though the year I was looking for is the one that's not there!!! - Typical!  I didn't know Familysearch did this, as I'd love to know how it works so I can see if they do the Manchester area as well.  How would I find out??  Yes, you're right it is a slow process, but I have found something worth having, so it's worth the 'slowness' of playing with it.

Regards
Hazel

I've now got visions of you sat there doing an impression of a Meercat  lol

All I've got to do now, is convince my cousin John that I'm right and he's wrong about Ann Elizabeth marrying Mr READING and NOT Mr BARNES!  No easy task!!!!

Thanks again 'Sergie' (The Meercat)

Hi again,

Thought you didn't have a lot of time today :D  You'll never get done with whatever you were doing trying to sort my problem out  lol - it is much appreciated tho.

I found the 1871 on Find My Past as follows:

Piece:
1784  Folio:
75 Page:
12      Registration District:
Yarmouth

Civil Parish:
Great Yarmouth Municipal Borough:
Yarmouth, Great Address:
St George Road, Great Yarmouth, Yarmouth, Great County:
Norfolk

Yes the other marriage I was talking about was Annie Eliza who married somebody named BARNES - My cousin is convinced this is the correct marriage, so we're having a 'fight' about who is right.  We know Ann Elizabeth was born 1853 (tho cousin says 54 - arghh), but this Annie Eliza according to FamilySearch was born in 1850, which would have made her about 14 years old when she married (tho she's saying 18 yrs on FS)

The marriage you've just sent me on another reply is the parents of the Ann Elizabeth Bristow I'm looking for and which I have already on my TREE.

Cheers
Hazel

Yes, I bet they did name a Sloop after him  LOL

I have looked at the census' - I'm more interested in Ann Elizabeth BRISTOW's side and I've got all the census' up to her marriage - I was hoping somebody might just have a disc with Yarmouth marriages on which would show HER father as John Maddison Bristow - Master Mariner, and then that way I would know for certain I had the right female - as I said earlier, there are TWO Ann E Bristows marrying, and the one I think I'm correct on is the one marrying in 1876 to this Reading guy.

Sorry to be a pain, but it's difficult when you don't live in the UK and can't get to places like Yarmouth to check things out for yourself.   But thank you for helping me.

Cheers
Hazel

Hi,

Yes I have looked at the census', but there is a possibility of TWO Ann E BRISTOWS marrying, and I feel that the one I'm enquiring about is the right one, but I need to know if her father's occupation is a MARINER, then I hope I was right with my 'instinct'.

Thank you
Hazel

Would it be possible for someone to do a Look Up for me please for Great Yarmouth.  I'm looking for a marriage I've seen on FamilySearch, but I would like to know the father's name & occupations of the Bride and Groom, plus Witness names.

I have the following info but unfortunately no CHURCH name given:

John Barwick READING b. 1851 marrying Ann Elizabeth BRISTOW b.1854
Marriage date: 16 November 1876 in Great Yarmouth.
Info off FamilySearch as follows:
Indexing Batch  107379-5
Source Film No. 1596348
Ref.No. Item 10 p.25

Kind regards and thanks in advance of being able to help me

When I also asked this question, one of the kind people from Rootschat told me that all the bodies are still there, and the cemetary is now a playing field/park and I believe all the Headstones were removed.  Find My Past has a good list of Ardwick burials if you are a member.

I lived in this area as a child, but I don't remember the cemetary being there, though I do now know where it was/is as I have an old map of the area.
