Tyrone / Re: Catholic Burials near Aughnacloy
« on: Monday 25 April 16 11:18 BST (UK)  »
Thanks for the advice. I phoned and got the information I needed. In case anyone else is interested Catholics were buried in a Church of Ireland cemetery off the Aughnacloy to Ballygawley  road. There are some headstones  but no surviving records.

Tyrone / Catholic Burials near Aughnacloy
« on: Sunday 24 April 16 17:08 BST (UK)  »
Has anyone any idea where Catholic people were buried in the Aughnacloy area? The Chapel in the main street was not built until around 1900 but there must be an older graveyard. I know there were three barn type churches at Dernabane which was known as  the Quarry Chapel, Killens and the Hopps chapel near Caledon, There are no burial records as far as I know. Any help would be appreciated,

Sorry to mislead. My Catherine was not born until 1870, a daughter of Peter McMahon and Catherine McKenna of Glaslough. There are a lot of McMahons in the Emyvale area.

Thanks, I knew I'd never be so lucky but was hoping!I agree that not all burials are noted in Church Records especially around the famine times.

Tyrone / Graveards

Does anybody know if records exist for 1800s which show who is buried in which grave.I have looked at burial records for a particular family but they don't give a grave number yet thay must have been able to know when a grave was full.I know that, in Belfast, if you have a grave number, you can find out who is buried there.I am interested in the Aghaloo and Carnteel church of Ireland records.Any suggestions would be welcome.
