Thanks for that Russell
I will make a copy as you suggest, its something I do sometimes, then add more info and then forget again.
I had wondered if the extra cd's of info would be of any value, mostly they are usually of US lists.  But I think that there is supposed to be a UK version of extra discs - parish records etc.
Sorry to have missed the freebee, but you can't win em all can you.

Hi there
I have Family Tree Maker version 6 and have never found a problem but my fellow researcher in the US has sent me a copy of her info which she has on her version of FTM and My old version 6 will not download hers, it says that hers is a newer version than mine.
If I bought myself a newer one, can anyone tell me which one would be the best one? there seems to be 2005 DeLuxe  and 2005 Collectors Edition, bit confusing really - will a new one automatically update my old one?

Thank you very much David,
It is as I thought,  not John's brother but someone born in Old Warden which was the other alternative.
Many thanks for your help

Bedfordshire Completed Look ups / William York burial Biggleswade 1843
« on: Sunday 04 December 05 16:22 GMT (UK)  »
Hi all
I am hoping someone can help by finding the age, if stated in Parish Record of William York who's death was registered March Qtr 1843 Biggleswade.
Wm. married a Mary Hawkins in Old Warden in 1824 they had the following children Sarah born 1826. James in 1828. Susan in 1830. John in 1834 and Eliza Sarah abt. 1839.  I think that's all their children.
If I can find William's age I could confirm if he is the brother of a John York also also having issue in Biggleswade but born Yelden.
The 1841 census won't help because it doesn't give me William's actual birth place and he was dead before the 1851!
I know it's a long shot but here's hoping!!

cheers Bill
Appreciate anything you can find, I live in Northamptonshire  and hours away from any research.  I am a member of Kent Family History where I think I have seen your name lots of times.

Hi Bill, good of you to offer help with the Deal/Walmer research.
I am trying to find a connection to my Dadd family to a man called Lardy Dadd, I should think that was his nickname?  Its difficult to find links with later families because the 1901 Deal area census has been lost, so lots of avenues of research are now closed until the next census!!.
Someone once told me that Lardy had a brother George Dadd, I have a picture in one of my Deal books in which the brothers are standing next to the lifeboat (Walmer I think) with Freddy Upton.
Would you know who the Father of these two Dadd family members was please?  I should think they would be a little younger that Freddy but not much.
