It seems I got a bit confused in my reply yesterday...(it's an age thing) so please forgive me.....

George Robinson was a visitor in Haggerstone West according to the 1851 Census...Aged 20, Occupation...Coach Maker. Estimated Birth year .....1831 according to the details on the census.

George William Robinson(his son) was born on 26 December 1852, they lived at 7 Margaret Street, Haggerstone East, Shoreditch. Fathers Occupation.....Cab Driver...Mothers maiden name .....Mary Freeman although according to the census records for 1851 she shows up as Mary Ann Freeman aged 15..

Please tell me this helps........

Hi All,

Ok where do I start ?
I have my Gt Gt Grandfathers(George William Robinson's) Birth certificate which shows that he was born in Shoreditch on 26/12/1852, he then at some stage left for India when he was old enough. The address for his parents on the birth certificate is 7 Margaret Street, Haggerstone East, Shoreditch. Parents names are George and Ann Robinson nee Freeman.

As for George Robinson his father, I have a census for 1841 which shows that he was a visitor and was said to be born in Cheshunt, he was living in Haggerstone West at the time of the census. his occupation is Coach Maker(I think)...

I hope the above helps.....

Can anyone help me locate a birth certificate for my Gt Gt Gt Grandfather George Robinson who was said to come from Cheshunt.  This is according to the 1941 census where he was shown as being a VISITOR in Haggerstone West in Shoreditch.

There are no papers for George Robinson at all not even a marriage certificate to Mary Freeman.

He had a son(my Gt Gt Grandfather) George William Robinson born in Haggerstone East, on 26/12/1852, mother was shown as Mary Freeman also from Haggerstone West.
