Hello,

I am looking for help dating this photo if possible, or if any photography detectives can shed any light on it. The gentleman standing back right is Roger Wood, a member of my family who lived 1833-1879 when he was drowned in a shipping disaster along with his wife and daughter. It appears to show him with some friends and unusually for Victorian times, they seem to be larking around. I don't own the original so sadly cannot show the frame or rear of the photo. Thanks for reading!

Dan

Thank you so much for the replies, I have had a look at the website and will see if I can message them. My cousin probably got the pictures there in the first place, he sent them to me as pictures of "Wylam Station" because I am updating a family booklet on Edwin but it struck me that we might have a clearer picture of Edwin here and it looks like we do, he was there 22 years ( I got his 1921 Census this morning too which places him there, he started 1900 and left 1922 for Catterick Station) Since he was there throughout the Edwardian period and post war and bearing in mind the gentleman's likeness, uniform and prominence (as station master?) in the photos, I think it is him. Thank you so much for the replies and thoughts. Hugely appreciated!

Hello,

One of my relatives Edwin Stabler was station master at North Wylam station from 1900-1922. We have a blurry photo of him on the left on the platform from 1908- attached. If anyone can help, I am looking for the two different photos to be dated to see if he might be on them as our original image of him was quite blurry. It does look like he might be the man in the middle in the bottom picture and stood on the platform again in the other.

Thanks for reading,

Dan

Hello,

I might try and look into the LDS Church if it is possible.

It is definitely Plant and not Slant which must be a transcription error.

Thank you for the help,

Dan

Hello,

I am wondering if anyone might have the full transcript or even the image for the following marriage at Stratford Upon Avon? Familysearch has it as the 19th of July 1813 between William Commander and Comfort Plant. I have tried looking online but Ancestry stops at 1812 and no joy elsewhere. I am looking for either: extra information than Familysearch provides such as the witnesses (if any) or a copy of their 'marks' when they signed it as I would like to include this in a social history book about the family I am writing. Any help would be much appreciated.

Thank you for reading,

Dan
