If you don't mind, I prefer to keep all my communications on Roots Chat. I find I need to limit my self for ancestry searching as it does use up a lot of time.

You are right what a fabulous site. Members are very helpful.

Thank you Wiggy for all your suggestions, I did add the birthdates to my Ancestry.ca tree.

Best regards,
Alleson

You are a sweetheart.

I do have records of George Stewart and Mary Corrie's children, as he is listed in the Peerage.com.

 Spouse & Children
Mary Corrie
1816 –
 Leveson Douglas Stewart
1844 – 1916
 Thomas Corrie Stewart
1846 – 1907
 Clementina Ross Stewart
1848 – 1908
 Keith Stewart
1851 – 1938
 James Dalrymple Hay Stewart
1853 – 1914
 Isabella Lydia Stewart
1858 –

What is difficult to find are the spouses of the Stewarts, which is why I was guessing at the mother of Mary Corrie.

Thank you for birthdate of Mary Corrie and the confirmation of her mother's name.

Best regards,
Alleson

I have made an assumption through a family tree that my 2nd ggrandmother Mary Corrie (b. 1817 Edinburgh) is the daughter of Clementina Blair Ross (b. 1801 Midlothian) & Thomas Corrie (b. 1791 Midlothian).

This assumption is related to the similarity of name to her child Clementina Ross Stewart (b. 1848 Twynholme, Kircudbright) daughter of (George Stewart, 1814-1893).

I believe this is so, but have no evidence, except of Mary Corrie's husband and children as per Burke's & the Peerage.com.

Thanks again!!!

Thank you Bee & Suzard!

I opened my Google Earth and saw that ST. James Sutton on Hull was same or near Sculcoates. I had not thought this was the same marriage information.  As well, I usually find the spouses on the same page and neither Maria Oust or Thomas Kitchen are on each other's page.

I will enter this new information on my ancestry tree.

Much appreciated,
Alleson from Canada

I am very grateful+++.
As I looked up the 1871 census I now see a Barbara Welsh as the sister of Mary Gillone--thank you, you have not only given me the surnames of my ancestors, but the birth date of my great grandmother.

I have Catherine (Kate) Gillone's marriage, as listed in Burke's, as Sept. 10th 1871 from the Peerage.com. I suppose the marriage might not have been registered until 1872.

According to th Yorkshire Marriage Index for 1840: Thomas Kitchen married Maria Oust at St. James (Sutton) Hull HO/1/200.

I can find no birth records or marriage record in Ancestry.co.uk for these 3rd ggrandparents Thomas Kitching (1813 Burstwich, Yorkshire) and Maria Houst (Roos Yorkshire East Riding). And as such I can not trace back their parents.

I am trying to find the mother of my great grandmother Catherine Gillone b~ 1848, who married Leveson Douglas Stewart. Her father was James Gillone b~ 1815, but I cannot find any mention of her mother.
