Hi,

Walter was born 1892 and his parents were Richard and Emma.  Died in France 1916

His brother Charles was born 1885 and also died in France in 1916.  He got a Gallant Conduct cert. (I have no idea what that is - so any advice would be grateful).  It may help track his records.

I dont know who any of them married or even if they married.

Thanks

Ok i do know those details but I was just wondering if anyone recognised the uniform or badges. Yes I admit it is not a good picture.

There are alot of Walter  or W Smith on the CWGC site.

Thank you anyway.

Thanks for your replies.  Now strange you should mentions Kings Own Yokshire Light Infantry because this is what one of his brothers was in.  That brother was the only 1 of 3 to survive the war although he lost an arm.

I will look into your findings.

Thanks

Hi,

Im sorry but i dont have the original.  This is a picture of part of a picture which i took with my mobile phone.

I can post the complete picture in which he appears, but I only want to have an individual one of him.

Thanks
