Thank you so very much Shelly; you are a very helpful person and I appreciate your efforts. I looked again yesterday at the information I have about Al and his wife was born in Illinois 24 Jun 1922 and I know from the obituary about Al that he was an army veteran of WW2 and was a resident of N. Canton since 1958. Wondering then if he met his wife in Il and they married there but the marriage records for Illinois are not available online; are they? He was a self-employed dry wall contractor at the time of his death. I was also wondering if his birth name was something like Alfonso or something different than Al???

Looking at Al G.'s Ohio death notice 6 Apr. 1977 in Canton, Ohio I see he possibly could have been born in 1922. If we had his marriage certificate information in his marriage to Anita H. Harrington in Ohio; would it give his real date of birth and his parents names?

Edith was still with Andrew Sanchez in Galvestion in 1920; lived at 310 Lubland(I think it is spelled) in San Antonio as Edith/Goddard/Sanchez because it is noted on my grandfather's death certificate(she was his sister). Then in 1930 she is back in Galveston with John Henry Moore and Al G. is 8 yrs old. Perhaps he was born or adopted in Galveston instead of San Antonio. Thanks again for your help and reply Shelly.

Yes; that is my great aunt and I have all the information except if it was her baby or if she adopted him. I am thinking she probably adopted him but don't know how to find that out.

I would like to find the birth record of a baby boy born in San Antoino, Tx. 5 Nov 1921 to Edith Goddard/Sanchez or was adopted by her. Does anyone have the ability to look up adoption or birth records in San Antoino? Al was adopted by Edith's husband John Henry Moore. Would appreciate any help

Thank you for the information. That John Tregay is the son of the John I was looking for. The other son William Tregay and his wife came over in 1874 and settled in San Francisco.

John F. Tregay came from Cornwall, England sometime after the 1871 census. I find him in Chicago in Naturalization Record Index but am unable to find where he departed from and when and how he came to the states. Would appreciate some help, please.
