Nottinghamshire / Re: Summerfield, Basford

Hi Sheila.  Thanks for your help with this.  I was starting to think I was completely stuck at the first hurdle.  I think I'll have to try and find out some more information before I can get started with this.  This family is my husbands birth relatives who he has only just found out about.

I believe he is Thomas W Summerfield.  Is it possible that with the war going on his registration was delayed as i was fairly sure I had his date of birth correct

Thanks again

Irene

Nottinghamshire / Summerfield, Basford

I'm trying to find details of my husbands grandfather.  We have been told his name is Thomas Summerfield, born in Ilkeston, but I have been given his date of birth as  29/01/1917, and the details Basford 111 of 154.

I don't really understand what the Basford 111 of 154 means, and I can't find any records of him on the BMD indexes

Any help would be gratefully appreciated

Lincolnshire Lookup Requests / Annie Elizabeth VICKERSTAFF
« on: Saturday 09 September 06 12:38 BST (UK)  »
Can anyone help me with any information at all about Annie Elizabeth Vickerstaff.  All I know about her is that she had a son in 1927 called John Francis in Billesdon

There is an Annie Vickerstaff born in 1899 in Bingham, but I have no idea if this is the same person, as I have also found an Annie Elizabeth Vickerstaff married in Bingham in 1904

Any help would be appreciated, as I am at a dead end with this side of my tree

Someone kindly helped me before with some of this family, and I was given this information

Checking the 1851, I've found this possible....

Derby Road, Ripley

George Wild, Head, 78?, Framework ?itter, Codnor
Hannah Wild, Wife, 39?, Framework ?itter, Heanans?
Hannah Wild, Daughter, 38, Framework ?itter, Heanans?
Ann Wild, Daughter, 28, Framework ?itter, Heanans?
John Wild, Son, 17, Coal Miner, Codnor
Maria Wild, Daughter, 6, Scholar, Codnor
Millesance Wild, Daughter, 4, Derby
Joseph Wild, Son, 2, Derby

HO107/2145 Pg33

I wondered if this family appeared on the 1841 census, as I think either the ages are wrong, or that this must be his second marriage, (but there's still a big age gap) and I thought the previous census if available may clear a few things up

thanks for that.  Unfortunately the only thing I know about Annie Vickerstaff is what's on her son's birth cert, so i don't know how to find her birth cert without knowing when or where she was born.

I usually find marriage certs helpful, but her not being married cuts that out

Thanks for you help

WOW.

Thanks for all of that.  The spelling of the name seems to change so often that I'm struggling a bit.  Also I don't think the ancestry 1871 census is that complete as this is the second time I've not been able to find info that is on there.

Thanks alot for all your help, and the speedy reply.

Plenty to keep me going all afternoon now. ;D

I'm trying to trace John Wild, born in Clay Cross about 1860 ish, married in 1880

He is on the 1901 census with his family, and he is on the 1881 census living with his wife Clara White's family.

I can't find a record of him on the 1891 census or the 1861 or 1871 census either.

He has children William, Florance, John Edward and Mary, but I've haven't found any of them on the 1891 census either.

So far I've found his name as wild and Wyld, but haven't checked any other spellings
