« on: Friday 05 May 23 09:42 BST (UK)  »
Am just starting researching the history of a house in Forton called The Elms for a friend. The only name they have is Braddock which was who they bought it off. Anyone know any info?

Am starting to research my family tree on my father's side. He was John Victor Paul Malam, son of George who married Elizabeth Hodgkinson, and lived just outside Crewe. I'd love to know if anyone is is connected with this tree and how far back it goes.

Family History Beginners Board / Wallings from Halton, Lancaster, UK
« on: Sunday 19 September 21 14:06 BST (UK)  »
I am trying to find ancestral info for my friend (nee Lamb) on the Walling family who lived in Halton near Lancaster, Lancs. The earliest I have is a Thomas b. Halton circa 1790 who later m. Agnes (?) from Dent. Possible son of William and Nancy, baptised in Halton 28/12/1788. Later names of those who lived in Halton and may be descended from them are Leonard, Thomas, Robert, Agnes and Christopher. Any help would be much appreciated.

Lancashire Lookup Requests / Re: St. Michael's Church Graveyard in Cockerham

Hi. Can't help you with Jonathan but this info will either help or hinder you. Re- my previous post: My earliest Harrison in the Thurnham area is Elizabeth d. 1597, buried at St, Michael's. Thomas, George and Janet are mentioned as workers in the Abbey Surveys of 1536 and 1538. William d. 1681 and James d. 1698 were both buried at St. Michael's, so the family name in this area goes back a very long time. By the way, in 1134, a church was built in Cockerham dedicated to St Michael. It was rebuilt in 1814 and again in 1910. It appears to be in a remote site away from the village but was central to it at one time as the village was supposed to have been rebuilt during the plague away from the infected area.

Hi Janet66. Don't know if this is of any interest to you but here are the names of Threlfalls and also a Morley which I have taken from my database of Thurnham residents. Hope it is of some use. Just realised I had to save it in PDF form so here is the attachment - er - no it isn't as its too large. I'll try again!.
