Thank you I did actually find his service number last night, but wasn't able to go further. Thank you for the information and I will now do as you suggest.  ;) :)

Thank you Bruce, but I looked at that last night. I'll have to find out if he moved to another sqn at some point.  ;)

World War Two / Ernest Bates

Hi, someone posted a picture of a 214 Sqn badge, it would have originally belonged to my uncle who was a rear gunner. Ernest Bates came from Holyhead in Anglesey, and spent a good while in a POW camp. Can anyone advise where I can get information please.

Thank you.  :)

For love nor money have I been able to get any details of any accidents that occurred in North Wales in 1949 on that date, nor any leads to Flt Lt Warr.

My other half pointed this headstone out to me earlier, and I was surprised to find it belonged to an airman who died during a flying accident. But where and in what aircraft, and how did he come to be buried at St Mary's at Llanfair yn Neubwll on Anglesey.
I'm assuming that the Flt Lt Robert Bolton Warr is the same one who's name appears in the London Gazzette, service number 195338.
Over to someone else who can do a more detailed search than I'm able to do.

Thanks for the London Gazette link, I found my grandfathers name from 1937, my mother had no idea it was even there.  ;)

No it is 1950, what caught my attention is the fact that he died at 28, and he would probably have served his time during World War 2.
