There are Bishops Transcripts for most areas in Cornwall and some of them date back to the 1600`s, the ones I`m currently working on are mid 1700`s  :)  If you know the area your ancestors came from go to this site www.cornwall-opc.org  -  all areas have an Online Parish Clerk that you can contact if you need help.....it`s free  ;D

You`re welcome  :)  You won`t find certificates pre 1837, if you post details of who you are looking for and where in Cornwall they came from we may be able to help you  :)

Hi Angus,

The following is the only baptism I can find for Elizabeth:-

Elizabeth Rexworthy
15th January 1775, Saints Philip & Jacob
Daughter of Edward & Ann of Castle Ditch
Fathers Occupation - Labourer

The only marriage in the right time frame:-

Edward Rexworthy & Ann Knight
13th February 1774, St Peter
Banns

Dorset / Re: John Woodsford and Harriet Payne

This is the only Harriet I could find:-

Harriet Pain
Born 1806
Baptised 16 March 1806 at Wimborne St Giles
Dau of John & Phoebe

There are three possibilities for John but this is the best match for year of birth:

John Bailey Woodford
Born 1813
Baptised 13 October 1813 at Wimborne
Son of Benjamin & Jane
