I think I've found them on 1921 census living at 234 Allen St.

Henry , Mary Ann and 6 children including Doris aged 12 and Edith aged 8.

Let me know if you want any more info

Thank you for that valuable information!
When I visited Barlborough Heritage centre they showed me a picture of the house and underneath it stated that "the house was purchased in 1687 by Thomas Boaler for £300 and he farmed 50 acres of land on Clowne Road. The family lived in Sycamore house until the late 1800's".

I've not been able to trace the source of the info unfortunately.

I'd found a couple of newspaper articles relating to George leaving £50 and the last one was in 1929 that stated the Chapel still hadn't been built!.

Wow. Thank you so much for your reply. Sycamore House is adjacent to the land that George Boaler owned. It's next to the dotted red line. Is there a date to go by?

I was also looking for Robert Boaler and the only thing I thought might be of interest was near to the bottom of the page but it just said "Derbyshire" page 4. If it's not too much trouble would you take a look for me please?

I've found newspaper ads with land for sale. In 1855 Robert was the occupier of
The Windmill Hill Close and Stone Quarry
The Plantation
The Near Underhill Close
The Middle Underhill Close
The Far Underhill Close

Unfortunately I've not been able to locate these areas on a map.

In 1862 he was the occupier of
Grass land called Nailor's Yard
Pasture land called Near Town End Leys
Arable land called The Mill Field
  "         "      "     Black Acre Close
  "         "      "     The Greedy Croft

Once again I've not been able to locate these areas on a map.

I'm doing research into Sycamore House as a surprise present so I'm trying to establish who lived there and when. There are 2 listed monuments in the garden dedicated to the Boaler family.

Thanks once again, I really appreciate it.

I'm researching the BOALER/BOWLER family who lived in Sycamore House in Barlborough. I've seen that there are tithe records for George and Robert Boaler on The Genealogist website and I'd be grateful if someone could do a couple of look ups for me.

I'm interested in seeing where the land was that they owned and any other details.

Thanks in anticipation

In my research I found that the house was in the same family until 1907 so I presumed someone related lived in it but now I think it might have been leased???? I'll have another look at the 1871 census tomorrow.

Thanks for your reply.

I wasn't aware of that. I just noted they were in Barlborough village in 1851 and 1861
