Glamorganshire / Frederick Jones baptism

Hi

Great aunt Catherine had 4 children 3 were born and christened in London but Frederick was born in Pontypridd according to  the 1911 census in 1902. They were living at 47 high st, Llanwonno on the 1901 census so is possible have found the baptism records for the other 3 children in London all within a month of being born so think they would have baptised Frederick soon after his birth as well. Have tried Find My past and Ancestry with no success.  Any ideas where else to look.

Just thought I would mention that I recently had a birth certificate with the mothers maiden name down incorrectly.

It confused me for awhile until I gathered more info and realised it was definitely a mistake but as they had been married for 18 years by then  her maiden name could have easily have been forgotten especially as it was stated as Davies instead of Jones both common welsh surnames.

Hi Osprey

Thankyou for pointing me in the right direction. Needs an experts mind and not a beginners sometimes.

After finding and printing the census years and studying them in detail and at length and failing to find a Daniel family in 1851 or the Jones family after 1851 I think you are right.

He was obviously known as John Daniel in Cwmystwyth, maybe that was his fathers name! Something to try and find out on my next archives visit which unfortunately can't be for awhile.

Thankyou very much for the help

Thankyou Osprey for your help.

Have been back to the archives to look at the parish registrar and the Daniel family is definitely not our Elizabeth.

I think Elizabeth daughter of John and Mary living in Llanfihangel village in 1851 is looking very likely and maybe she was lodging at Henffordd in Cwmystwyth at the time of her marriage in 1864.

Pobty is where she was living after marriage and where she died in 1888

Thankyou very much for the advice greatly appreciated

Hi
Looking for Elizabeth Jones my husbands great grandmother before marriage

Elizabeth  married Thomas Thomas on 2/9/1864 at Eglwys Newydd, Cwmystwyth they were both of Llanfihangel y Croyddyn Parish. She was aged 20 and her father was John Jones and living at Henffordd according to the parish register.
I can't find her in any census before her marriage. Can anyone help?

Thankyou

Hi Cell

Have just received the death certificate for Thomas Thomas and believe this is more likely to be him.  He is aged 44 on it so that is a year closer to his age. Also on the 1911 census he was lodging at 11 Thompson Villas so is reasonable to presume that after the war he would go back to the same area to lodge and work.

Details are died 3/6/1929 at Lady Windsor Colliery
age 44
Of 20 Thompson Villas, Ynysybwl
Accidentally killed by being run over by coal train
Informant a certificate received from the coroner inquest held on 5/6/1929

Thankyou very much for the help and advice

Helen

Hi

Cell many thanks for all the research. I have looked on that website with no success kept bringing up too many names to show them all and wouldn't let me narrow the search down.

Have sent for the death certificate you suggest as I agree with you it seems the most likely even though the age isn't correct but near enough as you say it depends on what info the mining company had for him.

The last certificate I sent for was Merthyr 11a 744 Thomas age 46, better age but was registered by his brother David which my Thomas did not have.  Also a Thomas died Llanelly age 45.

Thankyou very much for all the help.
Fingers crossed this is the right one.
