Kent Lookup Requests / Re: Dartford Cemeteries - AYRES
« on: Friday 06 May 11 20:27 BST (UK)  »
Not sure if this is the correct way to address this post, but most of the families who lived on Belvedere Marshes were buried in Brook Street Cemetery, Erith, which is really between Northumberland Heath & Nuxley Village, ( Upper Belvedere as was!).
There are Ayres there, just cant remember which.
Again, dont know how to go about this, but have drawn a blank on looking for my 3x great grandfather Richard Lee's parents. He was born in Minster (Sheppey) 1817. I have tried to join Sittingbourne Historical soc to access Births etc, but keep getting access codes that dont work. If you could point me in the right direction, I would appreciate it, as I know you have Lees as an interest.
regards,
Adrian Lane.

I posted this in the wrong link, but my 3x gt grandfather Richard Lee was born in 1817 in Sheerness, so they may have been siblings. He married Elizabeth Jordan?, b 1816 & was living in Minster in the 1841 census.

My ancestor Richard Lee was born in 1817 in Sheerness, & married Elizabeth (Jordan?) b 1816, & are shown in the 1841 census living in Minster. He worked in Sheerness dock, as did John Dorgan, so perhaps Frances & Richard were siblings. You have Jordan in your interests.

Finding it very difficult to track my gypsy side of the family as they didn't have too many documents. Would really appreciate it if anyone knew of any websites that are more specifically for gypsy genealogy, even more so if they have any information about them in Kent.
