I am interested in the Blounts of Belper. In particular James Blount (1872) brother of Fred Blount (Hosiery Manaufacturer) and his son also James 1899.

On of my relatives Sarah Hannah Jones is cited to have been born at the Swan Inn Hanworth 1894.

If anyone has any further information I would be really interested.

Would love to find more info on the following:

Sarah Jane Henshaw 1851 Castle Donington - William Booth Aston-on-Trent 1848

I am trying to find information regarding the above couple who lived at Red Thorn Farm/House 298 Village St, Normanton Derby.

There is a photo of the farm here http://www.derbyphotos.co.uk/oldphotos/
if you scroll down.

Another researcher has suggested that Sarah founded the first Music Hall in Derby - The Pavilion - although I cant find any info on this.

Any help much appreciated.

regards

Sorry the 1911 census states this not 1901

Also this status states that they have been married for 14 years.  So guess you are right that Elsie and William are probably not Annies children and explain the confusion about William being the same age as Ethel.

Also - just to confuse

her death cert states her name was Harriet Ethel Thorley  but I cant find any record for that or Turner.  She was known as Ethel.

I can find a birth record in Derby about the right time for Ethel Harriet Turner.

Thanks for the Welcome.

I am trying to trace my family history.

Ethel Thorley (c1892) -  there is some confusion over her name.  Her death certificate has her maiden name as Thorley but birth register records suggess that all her childrens birth cert state that their mothers maiden name was Turner.  So I am guessing she started life as Ethel Turner.

1901 census has an Ethel Turner living with the Thorley family aged 9 and down as the sister-in-law of the head.  So I am guessing that Annie (1865) and Ethel Turner are sisters.  With the big age gap possibly mother and daughter.  Looking for confirmation that my assumptions are correct and trying to pin down Annie and Ethel's parents.

Any help and advice much appreciated.
