Hi Ady,

Thankyou for your info.

I'm new to all the army history in England. I just looked at the British War Medal history and it says that this medal was awarded for war service between 5 Aug 1914 and 11 Nov 1918. This was later extended to cover post-war service in Russia during 1919 and 1920.

Do you think then that this L/Corporal would have finished his service, and as he is wearing the medal (if this is the British War medal) then this photo would have been taken after 1918, or even after 1920?

He would not have received it until he finished his service in that period wouldn't he? Or did they receive this during?

Trevor :)

I'm knew to Rootschat so excuse me for any errors.
I am working with 32ndiris who has kindly been helping me on our Beazley connection, so have this information about who we think this may be.

I also have this photo we had of what our family believe is a Beazley. There is no writing on it but the children are about about correct ages for for this Beazley if it is James Beazley married to Sarah (Larner or Lurner).
As 32ndiris has said these two soldiers do not look alike, but both may be from the same Beazley family.

I have James Beasley's war record which states all his family members, so I know this record is correct for my tree.
What we are not sure on is if this soldier in either photo is this James Beasley.
There were several of his uncles and brothers that were soldiers as well. Maybe by identifying his badges and uniform etc, we can narrow it down.

This is the best I could identify info on his card Medal Index Card.

James Beasley (sometimes spelt Beazley in his war record, and he signed with a 'z' or 's' on different documents)
