Good Morning from Alberta Canada,
I am Gord Guthrie and my mother was Doreen Blease who was the sister to David M. Blease married to Isabel Freeman. If anyone would like to exchange info I would love to hear from you as I only have Isobel's parents names. If you want to connect to the Canadian line-up just holler LOL

Many thanks,

Howdy Elaine,

Just got back from the link you provided.

What a great wealth of information on the Guthrie's.

Again, many thanks as it looks like a lot of info to add from the grand uncles and aunts children listed, More unknown info!!!

The Markinch, Fife info for Jane is correct so all the info you found is a good connection.

The James born 1882 is my Grandfather, however I didn't know he was an apprentice butcher as he was a farmer when his children were born in Manitoba.
More searching to do in Winnipeg LOL.

Many many thanks for that Elaine,

I have some info on the children but the info on Jane passing in Winnipeg is totally new and unexpected!
She must have joined some of the children here after Roberts passing.
You have the correct family as he was defineately an engine driver and now I am going to try Winnipeg for a burial of Jane.

All the best,
Gord

Renfrewshire / Guthrie's From Greenock

Good Morning All,

My Great Grandfather was Robert Guthrie m. to Mary Jane Walker and they had 11 children of whom I know only a smidgin about a few of them. His father was John Guthrie m. to a Mary Kenedy and that is as far back as I have.
I was wondering if anybody has any knowledge of the families that stayed in Scotland or even of those that migrated to Australia, the U.S. or other places.

My grandfather came to Canada as well as a few of his siblings but not very much is known about the others. My guess is that a couple of world wars kind of messed up a lot of family ties as they seem to have all disapeared from the face of the earth.

If any thing looks familiar please get in touch and I can match what info I have of the family to see if we are connected.

Many thanks for now,
Gord

Thanks for that ev,
When I returned to the forum I saw that there was a scroll beside the names and discovered what it was for.

Howdy again Glen Bervie,

I don't think it was me you sent an e-mail to as I just joined this site the other day. How did you send the message directly to me? I can't find a place to do that back to you.
