Martin Bolton Langston's birth in 1795 was recorded as Longston in the IGI. Bastardy records for Chipping Campden in 1796show that mother Sarah was single and that the father was Martin Bolton. There is more than one Sarah Langston born in Gloucestershire in the 1770's so it seems difficult to trace her ancestry. Sarah married George Taylor in 1812 and as reported in another post looked after the Langston children after Martin and his wife Jane died in the 1830's.
Does anyone have information about Martin Bolton Langston as an apprentice tailor in London. I suspect the Langstons were poor and the parish paid for Martin's apprenticeship but that is just a guess

Alex Wood is probably the best person to contact re the Leah side of the family. I am descended from Clara who emigrated to Adelaide in 1852. These are my notes about Clara

listed 1841 census in the hamlet of Berrington at Littleworth (at Chipping Campden) as age 20 living with Charles (69) and Sarah Taylor (67) and Leah Sarah and Charles. Interestingly Alfred is not listed, although he may have been listed as living with a neighbouring family named Blakeman (this unclear as the whole family is bracketed as a unit but Alfred's surname is blank, he is the correct age and there are few families in Littleworth). Charles is listed as an agricultural labourer and born in the county; Sarah is listed as not born in the county.
Clara is listed in the 1851 census at Chipping Campden entry 186 Littleworth living with her sister Leah,  Leah's husband and 2 children

     there was a family story that her fiancee in England was killed on the way to their wedding in a train
     accident.
     It has also been suggested that she was encouraged to emigrate by the minister who married her,
     who may have been in the Chipping Campden area but left for Australia before Clara.

    campden had 1700-2000 people 1821-1894 but no Langstons in 1861 census, although Clara's sister leah lived with her husband George Taylor and 6 children.
