Hi
My great-grandparents' names were Fred and May Holt (nee Ablett). To make things easier, my email address is .....................
Any info / documents / pics would be great as I have nothing on him. I know he was born c.1889 and died 1947.

Hi
Am researching my great uncle Jack Birch b.Oct 2 1910 Nottingham d.Apr 18 1942 Burma. He married Ruby Gwendolyn Cumberland sometime in 1941 Nottingham, the following day went off to war and never returned. She was born Apr 2 1918 Basford and died in 1984 Nottingham. She remarried to a William G Bush in 1960 Nottingham but also had two children out of wedlock.    Does anyone have any info on her marriages or children or anything else about her?

Edited to remove details of living people

Hi
Thanks for the interesting info there. Frustrating when folks take the past with them to the grave, not necessarily the dark secrets but anything interesting about their lives etc. Do you have a copy / scanned image of the marriage certificate you could send me for my project? Do you have a family tree on-line / you could send me? My trees are all with myheritage.com although I have used GenesReunited and ancestry.co.uk but not extensively. If you're registered with myheritage I can send you the official invite to view my tree if that would be of interest to you?
Andrew

Hi
Many thanks for this. Do you have any photographs of Fred or any WW1 documents? Do you know anything else about him, ie what happened with his marriage to your grandma, where he served during the war, where he then lived, died etc?

Hi
These both look like him. Yes his parents were Arthur and Emma and he had several siblings.
It's interesting that I can find only find a listing for a Frederick Holt born in Romford yet his Naval records say Brentwood and other sources say Hornchurch...?

Hi

I'm trying to research my great-grandfather. His name was Frederick Holt b.June 17 1889 (unsure where) d.1947 (unsure of date) Epping. I found a marriage listing for him and my great-grandmother, May Ablett, in sometime in 1918 in Tendring. They then went on to have 5 children. However I also have reason to believe he was possible married before, possibly whilst in the navy, before the first world war.

Can anyone shed any more light on this or maybe even help with the missing dates? Interestingly, the listing ofr his marriage in 1918 lists him as Frederick J P, but everywhere else just lists his first name...

Any help greatly appreciated, ta.

Hi

Does anyone have access to WW1 documents that can tell me which medals were won by my wife's great-grandfather? His name was William Henry Bennett, was born in 1881 Holborn, married Grace Keen in 1903 Alton and had several kids incl. William Henry, Lilian Violet, Stanley, Cyril, Doris Irene and John Henry. We know his serial no was 33819.
Thanks
