Hi, yes I have tried too but I have a large range for the year of birth for both of them and not all these years are available to view (I think!)

Armagh / Killeavy Upper, Armagh
« on: Saturday 11 March 17 15:44 GMT (UK)  »
I have seen this marriage in 1868 in the parish of Upper Killeavy between James (Keefe) and Ellen (McAnally). The date being 12th February 1868. Sadly I haven't been able to find a civil marriage record for them so I'm assuming they didn't bother. This would have given their father's names/occupation etc.

With this being the case is there any way I could find out who their parents were and when/where they were born?

Hello,

I hope you don't mind me using your topic.

I was wondering if someone visiting the GRONI search room in Belfast would be able to search some more recent births and deaths for me?

I'd be very grateful for your time and help!

Handwriting Deciphering & Recognition / Re: Birthplace - can't read
« on: Friday 23 September 16 17:28 BST (UK)  »
Thank you for your responses. I was thinking it said Cariffkeevey or Cariffkeeny.

Carol, I can't see "Carry Keeney" as a parish on the link you gave.

Thanks Philip, Carrivekeeny seems a very likely location. Is it a Parish or a Road or a house name etc?

My other thought was that as a sailor maybe the baby was born on a ship called "Cariffkeeny", but this seems unlikely.

Hi, Can anyone read the birthplace from this certificate? It's in the Newry district in Northern Ireland.

« on: Thursday 17 December 15 13:36 GMT (UK)  »
hello

Does anyone know where I can find burial records for the following persons living in Sedgefield and  Trimdon?

George Dixon Dale (died 1956 aged 75)
Elizabeth Jane Dale (died 1946 aged 63)
Robert Dale (died 1908 aged 3)
Jeremiah Dale (died 1911 aged 0)
Irene Dale (died 1934 aged 9)

I can't travel to Durham atm so will I have to pay for research?

London and Middlesex / Re: What happened to Herbert George Thomas?

I have a possible death certificate for a great-uncle but I don’t feel confident enough that it is the right man. What do you think…could it be him? What I know for fact is below… (the red is speculation)

1896 – Herbert George Thomas Birth 27th April 1896, 36 Woodville Road, Cardiff,
1901 – 14 Bovingdon Road, Fulham, Herbert G Thomas, Son, 4, Glamorgan Cardiff
1911 – 9A Wandsworth Bridge Road, Fulham, Herbert Thomas, Son, 15, Single, Errand Boy, Retail Tea Merchant, Worker, Cardiff, Glamorgan
1921 – 16 Crondace Road, Hurlingham Ward (electoral register)
1923 to 1947 – 11 Acfold Road, Fulham, Herbert George Thomas (electoral registers)
1939 – 11 Acfold Road, Herbert G Thomas, Male, 27 April 1896, Single, Confectioner & Tobacconist
1947 – 11 Acfold Road, Fulham, Herbert George Thomas, Civil Servant
1948 – 16 Acfold Road, Fulham, Herbert G Thomas
1950 to 1953 – 111 Hurlingham Road, Fulham, Herbert G Thomas

Is this the same man?? Herbert George Thomas
Death 21st January 1953 – Hundred Acres Banstead
Age: 57
Occupation:  a Guide Book Seller
Cause of death: 1(a) Broncho pneumonia II General Paralysis of the Insane PM Certified by R Macdonald MB
Informant: W G Brown Causing the body to be buried Hundred Acres Banstead

Technically he would have been 56 but I will let that one go! But there is nothing else to link with any information I have. i.e. residence and occupation. I know that the “Paralysis of the Insane” may have come about quickly but there has been no mention of an illness or incapacity for him.
I’m really not sure tbh. It’s definitely a possibility. No other death registered “fits” age and name wise like this one does. And also I can’t find someone else who would definitely fit this guy either which is promising.
Does anyone have any thoughts as to where I could look next. Maybe the burial would give next of kin. (he did have a sister and niece and nephews alive)
