They do look a lot like those clothes you posted Adrian, But the one on the left was only born in 1908, would the British army have still used them after the first world war?

and, no Carol there is nothing on the back other than some Stockport county results from the 60's  ::)

World War One / Military Medal France WW1
« on: Tuesday 11 March 14 10:37 GMT (UK)  »
Hi all,

I have been given some relatives paper cuttings and in them is one about a relatives golden wedding anniversary, it says that during the first world war he won the military medal in France, how can I find more out about this? I dont know anything about this relative so would love to know more, regiment etc.

His name was Arthur Maloney, He was born around 1896 in Stockport Cheshire,

Any help I'll be grateful for.

Thanks.

George Price

1901 and 1911 census says he was born in Wolverhampton Staffordshire he is aged 13 on the 1911 census, also on 1911 census he is called George Thomas Price

A school register says his birthday is 21st or 27th of May 1897

His father is James Price & mothers maiden name is Bagguley.

Can you please help me find which would be the likely one off the different indexes.

Shane.
