Thanks for your reply Sherlock.

My problem is that after 1911 I don't know what happened to him but it is just guess work that he would have joined up for WW1 but not sure for certain and James Morrison is too common a name!!  >:(

I have tried the people with the private trees again on Ancestry that have James Symon Simpson Morrison but they haven't come back to me and I am at a bit of a loose end with this  :(.  I would just love to know where he is and if we have family we didn't even know about  ???

The 1911 Census was the last I could find on James.  He was single at that time.  I just wonder what happened to him after this as we were never told of him.  I have searched for a marriage on Scotlands People but James Morrison is a very common name and since I have no idea if he was still in Keith or what date he may have married I am going through a small fortune to try and figure this out!!   :-\

I am searching through the Military records for WW1 on ancestry just to see if he may have joined up but again James Morrison is a very common name and it is taking a while!! :-\

Unfortunately Annabella death cert is no help as the informant was her husband George (my G Granda).

Good news!! ;D. I think I have found him on the 1911 Census still in Keith just going by the name of James Morrison.  He was a boarder in a house in Mid Street.  He was down as a Groom (Domestic) and I think it is him as he is 20 years of age and born in Cairnie - more guess work than actually knowing it is him though!  :-\

I just wonder if maybe he would have joined the Army or the like when war broke out in 1914 - I have a bit more digging to do and may contact that people with the private trees on ancestry again!!  :D :D

In the meantime if anyone on here can give me any more information or help that would be great!! Thanks  ;D ;D

Thank you for your reply!

I have been searching on Scotlands people and he must have lost his middle names or something as I am having trouble finding him in 1911 census, deaths or marriages.  This is my problem and Morrison is a very common name unfortunately!!  :(

Hi everyone,

New to this so please excuse if I have done this wrong or put it in wrong place.  I am searching for a Great Uncle I never knew existed until about a week ago or so.

His name is James Symon Simpson Morrison born 7th March 1891 at Littlemill, Cairnie, Aberdeenshire, Scotland to my Great Granny Annabella Munro Morrison.  Annabella then went on to have my Granny Maggie Bella Duncan in 1900 in Keith, Banffshire, Scotland and in 1901 (according to the census) they were all staying with my Great Great Granny Margaret or Maggie Morrison at 109a Moss Street, Keith.  I can't find any further information regarding him after this unfortunately!!

Annabella went on to marry Maggie Bella's father (George Duncan) in 1903 in Keith and they had a number of other children (about 10/11) and GG Granny Maggie lived with them in 1910 down at Buckie and went on to pass away in 1917 and G Granny Annabella passed away in 1923.  I would be greatful if anyone could possibly help me find information.

I have been on ancestry.co.uk and there are two or three private trees that have him on but I have contacted them and no one has come back to me unfortunately.

Regards Kelly
