Joanna,
I have in front of me a copy of the book you mentioned and also "The Changing Face of Seaham 1928 - 1992" by Tom McNee, pictures by David Angus. I will gladly send both of them to you as they were complimentary ones that I had given. Hope this helps.

Hi Tunsilk,

The only info I have on John W. Elliott is that which was posted earlier on this thread. As such the date of his death that you posted was of great interest to me. Thanks for that and sorry I cannot be of any help.

Durham / Death of Margaret Ann Elliott
« on: Friday 18 November 05 23:59 GMT (UK)  »
I only found out last week that Margaret Annie Elliott (nee Brown) died before her husband, Maurice Dale Elliott, they lived in New Silksworth.
I found this out by going to the FRC in Islington & the British Library in Colindale.
Unfortunately that used up all my funds, so could I ask some kind person to look up Margaret Annie's ( or Ann) date of death. It was before May 1937 but after 1908.
Also I have no other information about this lady so all help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance

Thanks Wendy,
I did not know of Mary or Ann and also Elizabeth's birth place was news to me. Now I've got to find her maiden name.
Thanks once again for your help,

Yorkshire (West Riding) / Richard Sickling - 1806
« on: Saturday 15 October 05 22:52 BST (UK)  »
I have a Richard SICKLING born about 1806 in Well, Yorkshire. He married an Elizabeth ??? and they had 2 sons, that I know of so far.
The sons were : Richard born about 1836 in Hutton Conyers and Thomas born about 1843 in Hutton Conyers.
Can anyone, please, help with their ancestry, especially but not limited to Richard.
Kind Regards
Dave Sicling

Hi Minor, Thanks for the info, but it's not my George SICKLING.
He was definitely George Herbert SICKLING, born abt 1881 in Ripon.
To tell the truth he or somebody else changed his surname to SICLING. Don't know the when or the how, I just know that on his son's marriage cert it had lost the 'K'.
Thanks again
