Gloucestershire Lookup Requests / Re: Marriage of Molly Wilson in Bristol in 1941

Thank you for finding that for me. I believe this marriage was shortlived. Is there any way to check for divorces? Or for any children of this union?

Gloucestershire Lookup Requests / Marriage of Molly Wilson in Bristol in 1941

Please can someone look up a marriage of Molly Wilson in Bristol area in or around 1941?
The name Molly (Not Mary) seems uncommon in the area at that time so should be easy to find, but I do not have access to records.  I need the date and name of her husband and any other pertinent details that may be there.  Many thanks to anyone who can search this for me..... thank you ...C

Thank you for your help Chas. I only stumbled on the fact that Sarah had called her son William Salter when she was married to Charles Salter and that William had reverted to his birth name of Johns by 1891....by chance. The fact that he was called William Salter in 1881 census really through me off and I couldn't find him for ages.

Thank you Kerry
I can't find their marriage either. It could be a transcription error I suppose. But Sarah and Charles went on to have more children when they were together. Is there another way to find marriages ?
Thanks so much for your help

Hi Kerryb

Thank you for all that... thats wonderful....

Her son was called William James Johns born ? Dec 1872.

She appears at some point to have married a Charles Salter who was 20 yrs older than her.

Gloucestershire / Sarah Jane Johns

I am looking for any information on Sarah Jane Johns born in Bristol c1854. She was apparently born in the Temple area of Bristol. If anyone can find me any other details of her, her parents, siblings etc I would be very grateful. She had an illigitimate son in 1872 but I can find no record of the father, unless someone can find her with a person in the 1871 census. I am completely stuck here with Sarah.

Actually there is a Welsh link somewhere as his son was left a welsh harp and had visited a relative in Cardiff or Swansea in 1925. Was the John Johns staying with someone in Bristol.?

Census Lookup and Resource Requests / Re: 1891 census lookup please

Thank you so much... I think I am solving a puzzle. I believe William Johns was the illegitimate child of Sarah (Salter), born Dec 1872. His birth name would be Johns but on the 1881 census he is listed as William Salter (thank you for helping me find that). I can't seem to find a marriage of Sarah to Charles unless she had married before Charles and had a different name at marriage. Do you have access to any Birth information or Marriage information that may shed light on his full identity ?

It seem that William went on to marry a Caroline Hurford and had twin sons the year after Charles Salter died and they were named Charles William and Samuel Charles b.1895. I have been really stuck on Williams details and that of his parentage, the Salter info has helped me alot. Do you have any other suggestion...?
