Hi Jane - great to hear from you. I now have Hamstead / Escott history back to the 1500 and another branch along that line to the 1400s that I will be happy to share.

I am at work at the moment so can't attach the photo I have of Joseph Hamstead/Annie Morris but will do so when I get home

Hi Tevor!

I would be happy to share what I have with you - I have the Hamstead/Escott line back to the 1500s and some info about Annie Morris parents but as yet, no reason for the name change.

Joseph/Annie were my great, great, great grandparents. What relationship were they to you? I have a photo of them I can pass on but am at work at moment so will need to wait till I get home

I am seeking information, photos/posters about my great grandfather Henry McAlpine who was a champion wrestler and appeared regularly in the Newtwonards press between 1920 and 1922.

All information gratefully received

Sorry for delay in reply - forgot my passowrd and it's taken me a while to get back in.

I've looked in my history box and most of the Peading/pedin/pedans I've got are way too late - none early enough to give me a clue about Elizabeth Peadin's mother. Earliest one I have is James Pedin who married mary McConkey around 1845 I think

Sorry - I'll keep my eyes open though :-)

Anyone know anything about Ann Morris who married Joseph Hamstead [ born Truro in Cornwall?]

She was born in Castlerea Co Roscommon in the 1820s.

For some reason, Ann and Joseph changed their name to Escott at one stage in their lives then changed back again to Hamstead.

All information gladly received !!!!

Brilliant! I'm afraid I don't know who Elizabeths mother was but if I find anything I will let you know.

I was looking through my family history 'box' last night - it's where I keep all the reasearch notes of people who might be 'mine' and I'm sure I came across something that is now ringing bells!

I am going away this weekend so won't have tome to go through the box but at the beginning of next week I should be able to have a look and if I find anything useful, I will let you know.

Regards

Sue

Are members of your Pedan family any relation to Eliza[beth] Pedin who married William McCalpin in 1845? Her father was James Pedin and she was my great, great, great grandmother? I ask because Marquis Street ap[pears on one of the certifictes I have relating to the family.
