Hi Ian

Thank you for replying to my 2006 post.  I am not connected to TOMLINSON, I was doing research  for a friend.  I will pass on your info but I don't think she is actively researching.

Thank you

Lancashire Lookup Requests / St Mary, Crumpsall Marriage Records 1887
« on: Sunday 02 February 14 20:38 GMT (UK)  »
Hi

Does anyone know where the marriage records for St Mary, Crumpsall for the year 1887 have been lodged please?  Have they been filmed?  St Mary is now merged with St Matthew the vicar has confirmed they are not at the church.

You have the marriage certificate for Hannah Harker and James Anderson and neither have father's listed?  Usually means they were illegitimate.

Janis

Hi Janis

Thank you for your post.

No I don't have the marriage certificate just the online record which may have been posted by a LDS member or another researcher and they did not put all the info online.

Did you notice that in 1851 the neighbour is Thomas Harker also b St Giles?   A brother maybe?
I can see a marriage to Isabella Vickers in 1869.
There is a burial at St Giles 15 July 1851 for Eliza Harker, of Sands Cottage, age 35 so she could not be Hannah's mother if she is William's wife.
Andrea

Hi Andrea

Thank you for your post.

Hmm interesting about the death, the age would just about be correct.  I saw the marriage of Isabella VICKERS but cant connect that as yet.   Following up the Thomas as a brother.

Have you looked for a Harker/Anderson marriage to confirm your theory?

Andrea, this looks very much like the marriage, (St Helen's Auckland) going by the ages of the bride and groom as compared with the 1871 census. https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/NVP3-BZ9

Hi

Thank you for your info.

Yes that is the marriage but no father's are named.

I have now sort of found St Nicholas and am working my way through the pages.  I now believe Sands may be Sands Cottages but its only a guess.

Good morning
Does anyone know the piece numbers for St Nicholas in 1861 or have information about possible missing records?

There are lot of pieces missing from the 1861 census, but Durham St Nicholas isn't among them.

Hi

Thank you for your reply.

That's encouraging, if I can find Sands I hope to find Hannah with William HARKER.

Answering my own question here.  She is a boarder, with husband James and a young child.  There is another family who are also boarders.  William has a wife called Isabella on that census so is there a reason why you think she may not be the mother?
Have you looked for a Harker/Anderson marriage to confirm your theory?
Andrea

Hi Andrea

Thank you for your reply.

Yes I have found a marriage for Hannah HARKER and James ANDERSON online but it does not give any fathers names.  I do think William had more than one marriage, in 1851 his wife is transcribed as Eliza, I believe William may have married Isabella around 1869 so Eliza is more likely to be Hannah's mother.  The reason I can also tie up with William is that in a later census William is transcribed as grandfather to a child of Hannah and James.

I just cant find Sands, Durham in 1861, as William is there in 1851 and 1871 I am fairly sure that is where he will be.

Edited re mistype William other wife in 1841/1851 is Eliza not Ann - sorry.
