Durham Completed Look up Requests / Spring Street, Darlington
« on: Tuesday 30 May 17 04:33 BST (UK)  »
Could anyone tell me please whether Spring Street is still in Darlington?  Using the Family Search site I managed to find the 1901 Census and my gt grandmother.  I know it was the right person despite her name being Brown because she was born in Madeley and my Uncle, Aged 3 was listed plus
my grandmother.  Both of them had two initials.  One day I would like to visit if possible, but I cannot find the Road.  There were a dozen people listed as living there, four of whom I am aware of but the others who would have been my Gt.aunts/uncles remain a mystery.  My grandfather came down to Kent in the early 1900's to find work and later his mother-in-law (my Gt. grandmother) came to live with the family.  I wanted to find out where they lived and maybe see the church where they married in 1897.  Any help with the road would be appreciated.  Thank you

Ancestry is always a problem for me! There is a wonderful site for free by the Mormon Church (no connection, I came across it). It is called Family Search and I have found some of my relatives there who were born in the 1850's

Donald Cox lived quite near to me;  he lived in Bleakwood Road, Chatham.  His wife , Ellen or Helen was a headmistress.  Donald died in 1998.  He was the organist at Boxley church and he used to go to recitals at Rochester Cathedral.  He had a son , I did not meet him but believe he is an accountant.  I hope this us useful
