Derbyshire Lookup Requests / Re: Help locating my Nans Father

Thank you for your help, John Kings is a potential match certainly seeing as he worked at Rolls royce and that he emigrated with his family soon after. Hopefully the DNA will shine further light on this.

Thanks again, James

Thank you for your help

Yes thats correct about Gertrude. My nan is living hence why I haven't put her details, but you can likely work out who she is from the census records :)

Ahh possibly Balmoral was a red herring then, the John frost mentioned at leopold street, he worked at rolls royce? If so thats a possible match.

Derbyshire Lookup Requests / Help locating my Nans Father
« on: Friday 14 April 23 12:57 BST (UK)  »
My Nan born 1927 in Derbyshire was born out of wedlock and took on her mums surname, birth certificate has no Father named. My nan has mentioned his name potentially being John Frost however the surname king has also been mentioned. He potentially lived on Balmoral road in Derby and worked as a Draughtsman for Rolls Royce.

I know its a long shot however perhaps someone can help shed some light on whom my great grandfather was. I am in the process of doing an Ancestry DNA test which could hopefully help pinpoint who he was.

Thanks

@Rosie Thats a great little find, thank you

@Queenofthewest I have ordered my DNA kit through ancestry just the other day, I'm filling out unsolved areas the tree whilst waiting, will be interesting what it comes to reveal.
I have added the Hillam Rudd line for now as seems the best fit as yet. John Hillam (Rudd) Grandad was Luke Hillam 1786 Peterborough who Married Lydia Rudd he uses the Hillam Rudd for his children but not himself, so seems Hillam was the paternal name originally after all.

@CoIC as Rosie99 has mentioned John T died as a baby, it was a route id lookied down previously.
@Queenofthewest amazing, I was looking for a matching occupation, I'd have never found this, I'd say it's a quite possible match. Thank you :)

Hello

My 2x Great grandfather John Hillam abt 1861 of Peterborough Northamptonshire is in the Derby census of 1891 and 1901 with his wife Sarah Jane Woodward (formally Jane Woodward) abt 1867 of Biggleswade Bedfordshire along with their four children. William, Annie, Gertrude (my Great Grandma) and Earnest, all born in Derby. Im not able to find John and Sarahs (Janes) Marriage anywhere, and am unable to find a John Hillam who is a good match in earllier census records. Anyone able to help, or any suggestions.

A comma now that's getting slightly pedantic. The Thomas you just mentioned is the one with suzanna as the mother?
