His wife's name was May Elizabeth. They were both born in England but moved to Canada in 1906 and 1910. Alfred had been posted to Ireland from Canada and so when he died, May returned to Canada and soon after moved to America to be close to her oldest son Gordon in California.
The photographs of the Memorials in the churchyard were great but unfortunately, Alfred's was not among them.
I've contacted the Diocese office but had no reply.
I'll send for a copy of the Grant of Administration.

My Great Uncle died on 11 Feb 1947 at Ballyglass, Dromore West, aged 63. At the time of his death he was the  "Clergy in Charge", Kilmacshalgan, Killala. I cannot find where he was buried so if anyone can help it would be really appreciated.

Thanks. Have searched the 1939 register for both CROSS and MURCOTT names but not come up with anything. I keep revisiting the BMD's to see whether she has been added but not for the past twenty years anyway. I'm now assuming she may have remarried and changed her name but I've also looked for deaths of "Nellie" born 9 May 1900 and come up with several possibilities but after following them up they all turn out to not be my Nellie.
Perhaps she emigrated under a different name, there are some family members that did around the same time that she disappeared, but I've not found her yet.
I guess I was clutching at straws and seeing if anyone else may be looking at her for their ancestry.
Thanks again for replying.

Could you please date and restore this photograph? I believe it's my grandmother who was born in Long Eaton in 1900. However I have a sneaking suspicion it may be my great Aunt who was born in Staffordshire in 1891, but working as a young woman in Castle Donnington.
Your help would be most appreciated.
Thanks,
Colin

Nellie was born 9 May 1900 to William and Elizabeth. She married Edwin CROSS in 1922 in Tamworth Staffordshire. They had two children together, Norman William b.1923 and Ernest Raymond b.1925. Soon after Ernest was born, Nellie left her family and Ernest was left with his Aunt Emma in Edingale, Norman staying with his father.
I have searched for Nellie's whereabouts for over twenty years but have not been able to find her. If anyone can help I'd be most thankful.
Thanks,
Colin
