To DOB7

Probably not, because he would have been at least 84 when she was born! :)

Sorry, senior moment, wasn't thinking straight!

I haven't done any research on Emma , found her for the 1st time on 1911 census where it says she was born in Exeter.

I have Emma Rattenbury in my line, born in Devon 1875 and married Frederick Boobier  1904. Maybe Emma was from his 2nd marriage.

Hi Bickie,

Thanks to my relation, John Dann, I have quite a lot on the Dann family.
He has gone way back and there are Dann's all over the country.  I have even been in contact with one in Canada. His Grandmother was Emily's sister.
I will send you a PM and give you my e.mail address.

Regards,
Doreen.

Hi Bickie,
I did belong to FHS but let my membership lapse, I will renew it next month.

So I am a rellie of your partner, brilliant to find another family member!

I would be very grateful for any more info you can give me.

Many Thanks,
Doreen.

Thank you for your interest Bickie,

I would like to see the article on the Danns. I assume the magazine is only available to members of FHS.

I knew George had married Lydia as a relative has done a lot of research into the Dann family but nothing on Elizabeth Powell.

My Grandmother was Emily Dann.

Regards,
Doreen.

My ancestor, Edwin Boobier was born in Tiverton, Devon 1859 and he is on 1861 & 1871 census but then nothing on him. I cannot find a marriage or death but have recently found a Edwin Boobyer on a passenger list to America.
He sailed on the Finland from Antwerp in May 1908 and his residence was Koeschwoog, Germany and he was married.
I would like to know when he arrived in Germany and who he married.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thank You,
Doreen.

Hi Susan,
Because William was named on the marriage certificate I assumed he was still alive. I should have realised you can never take anything for granted in Family research!

There are several deaths in Bristol for William Powell so I could not send for all of the certificates.

Interesting that Elias was apprentice chimney sweep as Joseph Dann was also a sweep but that was probably a common occupation in those days.

I am no nearer finding Elizabeth's mother but I will keep trying.

Thank you for your input,
Doreen.

Hi Susan,
I have looked at 1841/51 census but there are several William Powells so not sure which is the right one to find his wifes name.

The witnesses were Alfred Bosher? and Henry Meade.
