Armagh / William Thompson and Eliza (Elizabeth) McCann
« on: Thursday 05 April 18 19:54 BST (UK)  »
Hi,

My grt grt grandparents as above married in Segoe Armagh in Aug  1855. In 1852 they had an illegitimate son William Thompson. Once married they had a further 5 children John Thompson brn Ireland 1856-1906 died in Govan Lanarkshire (my grt Granddad),  William Thompson brn Ireland 1858, James Thompson brn Ireland 1861, Joseph Thompson brn Ireland 1863-1923 died in Ireland and Catherine Thompson 1865. I have all info on John and Joseph Thompson.

I am assuming William Thompson brn 1852 died as they went onto name their 3rd son William, but cant find a death for William 1852.

I am struggling for a year now to find out what happened to William and Eliza and their children James, Catherine and both Williams.

On their son Johns marriage of 1882 it has father William Thompson deceased but doesn't mention Eliza deceased so I am guessing she is still alive at this point.

I have searched numerous websites but nothing.

Can anyone help!!??

Thank you

Lanarkshire / Alexandra Willimina MacAllister 1908-2007
« on: Thursday 05 April 18 18:34 BST (UK)  »
I have recently found out that my mums nan Helen McAllister had an illegitimate child Alexandra Willimina  MacAllister in 1908 Govan Lanarkshire, Helen McAllister went onto marry a Robert Higgins Savage in 1910 Govan Lanarkshire and 3 more children one of them was my nan. I came across Alexandra in the 1911 census living with her grandparents Archibald and Jessie.

I know Alexandra Willimina went on to marry a John William Newing who was from Canterbury in Kent and in the Navy in 1942 in Lochgilphead Argyll. I know John William Newing died in 1983 in Currie Scotland and Alexandra Willimina died in 2007 in Currie Edinburgh  her son John was present he also lived in Edinburgh.

I am not sure due to not having access to census further than 1911 if Alexandra stayed with her grandparents. Would love to learn more about her.

I know its a long shot as I didn't even know about her until I found census  and I never heard my mum talking about an Alexandra.

Many thanks

I would love to hear from anyone if they recognize any of the names.
