Hi Forfarian & Boomeranger - Thank you both for your replies.

I think James Anderson Robertson was the youngest son of Robert Robertson so definitely one of ours. I’ve not researched the wider family much but have found the various posts relating to them extremely informative.

Robert (x3) was a plumber on the 1881 census when he was age 14. Perhaps, at that time following his father, who was a Brassfinisher, into a trade. I think he must have changed tact as he appears as:
1889 – Dentist (his marriage to Jane Boyd Bruce)
1901 – Dental Mechanic on own account (Census)
1911 – Dental Assistant (Census)
1938 – Dentist (Wife’s death record)
1962 – Dentist (Daughter Maud’s death record)

Not sure if he was a fully qualified dentist or not but my husband’s older sisters knew of a dentist/dental technician in the family. I’ll need to look into that more.

I’ve been trying to trace the deaths of the various Robert Robertson’s – I saw on a site somewhere (can’t remember which) that 2 of them may have died in Mauritius. Do you have any info on their deaths within your research? Thanks again.

Hello

I have Nicholas Page, private Stirlingshire Militia marrying Mary Fargreve on 11 October 1807 in Stirling (National Records of Scotland, Old Parish Registers).

Also I think this is his death record:

Nicol Page of Baker Street, Stirling on 1 November 1853 Cause of Death - Dropsy (National Records of Scotland, Old Parish Registers).

Can anyone shed any light on the deaths of 3 generations of Robert Robertson?

Robert Robertson (x1) born in Blairgowrie, Scotland on 25 June 1817, married to Janet ‘Jessie’ Page.  He was alive when his son married in 1866 and deceased by 1887 when his wife died.

His eldest son Robert Robertson (x2) was born at sea in 1843 and married Agnes Campbell in 1866.

Hi son Robert Robertson (x3) was born in Glasgow on 22 January 1867 and married Jane Boyd Bruce in 1889. He was still alive in 1938 when his wife died. Robert was a dentist living in Durham at the time of his marriage.

Robert (x3) and Jane had 4 children: Jane and Maud (both born in England) and Robert and Agnes (both born in Scotland).

Maud was my husband’s grandmother – known as Nana Fulton.  She was born in 1891 and married to Archibald Fulton in 1911. She died in 1962.

I have read through various threads of chat relating to the Robertson family and we are hoping someone can help with information relating to their deaths - fingers crossed.
