Thanks Matthew,
I have these convict record details - just some inconsistencies with other information I have, so trying to track back through the Parkhurst record.
Appreciate your post though

Australia / Re: South Australia: George PICTON, born 1839, Manchester

Hello,
the Evening Journal (SA) 27 Feb 1883 reported in Shipping News that a passenger Mr George Picton had arrived into Port Adelaide onboard the 'Annie Taylor' from Esperance Bay.

Don't know if it is connected to your George, but thought I would add in to the mix.
Regards

Hello,
young Edward Light, aged 13 , was convicted in Portsmouth  (housebreaking in Portsea) and sent to Parkhurst Prison from May 1840 until transported on the Mandarin in 1843 to VDL (Tasmania). I am searching for records which may indicate who his parents were, such as the Prison Governors Log.
I note Edward appears on the 1841 Census, and a prison list describes his connections as 'respectable'.

If anyone is able to assist with any information from Parkhurst it would be most appreciated.
Thanks
Jen
