Armagh / Mary Hannan
« on: Monday 07 August 23 14:46 BST (UK)  »
Hi, Looking for any information on Mary Hannan. Catholic .She was born in 1836  Crossmglen, Armagh, Ulster Ireland, She came to Australia abt 1856. Married John Robinson in Brisbane Queensland Australia and died 1921. Her name seems to change from Hannan to Cannon or Kannan and I believe was buried as Cannon. Mothers name is Ester McMahon and some paper say Creegan Parish. Fathers name John Hannan. Wondering if you have any information on them or where and when Ester and John died or when Mary came to Australia. She had a sister Kate.
Thank you in advance.   Aleon Tessa

BTW Heywood. The death of Patrick McNamara 3/3/77 was from Ancestry by someone taking photographers of graves. I don't think its him anyway. Also the inquest one how do i go about getting more information on that one as it hasn't his wife's name just the name of the coroner.
I appreciate the help

Clare / looking for proof of gg grandfathers death
« on: Thursday 09 March 23 12:21 GMT (UK)  »
Hi, I've had no luck with looking for gg grandfather Patrick Mcnamara's death certificate or any proof of his marriage. I have found proof of their 7 children.
He married Margaret Higgins (cant find anything about her either).
The children are Eliza 16th April 1859  (My g grandmother who came to Australia)
 Anne 15th October 1861
 Margaret  28th May 1864
 Another Anne  26th August 1867
 John 10th March1869
 Patrick 14th August 1872
 Bridget 6th February 1875.
They were all born in Clare  though some are Quin. Tulla. Galway. Limerick. Just noting what is on the records.
My G grandmother Eliza came to Australia on the Earl Dalhouse in 1881. John and Bridget supposedly went to America.
Eliza said she used to visit her fathers grave before she came to Australia so presumely he died sometime after the last child Bridget was born and before she came to Australia in 1881
Was wondering how the mother coped with a large family and the youngest Bridget only 6 when Eliza left and went to Australia.
Hope someone can help.
I know Patrick McNamara is a very common name in Clare county so finding the right one has been a challenge but there must be a grave somewhere. I am financial with Ancestry at the moment and have been on and off for years. But have hit a brick wall.
Thanks so much

hi again, I forgot to mention his Religion is Catholic. I haven't yet found any marriage or death certificates of either Patrick and Margaret McNamara, or any of the other siblings.  Most of information about children's births are thru baptisms. thanks aleon tessa. Also no James in family that I have found.
