Hi,
I'm not sure how to post a link- terrible admission, but in the 1901 census she is resident in a house number 2 in Carneyhill , the Vow, Antrim. She is given as Jane Moore, age 13, living with William McCracken (Head) and his wife Ellen. She is listed as a niece, but as William is 78, it is more likely she is the child of a niece. Another niece, Ellen Wier, age 36, is also living there. I think the connection is from Jane back through William's wife Ellen, rather than through William himself. In the 1911 census William is dead, the Head is given as Sarah Ellen McCracken ( widow) and Jane is still living there, now age 23.
I have not yet been able to place the 36 year old niece called Ellen( 1901 ). This post is connected to my other post on Weir/ Wilkinson and possibly this older lady, Sarah Ellen McCracken was actually an aunt of Jane's mother ( who was also Ellen !!!!!) . don't you sometimes wish you would come across a few way out names instead of everyone being named after everyone else - it makes it so confusing.
I am really stuck on Jane's parents - no info on their marriage or death. I was able to get their names from her birth certificate but that's it. I would especially like to know if they had any other children and if so, what happened to them.
thanks for your help, Angela
