I am searching for any information on the parents of Thomas MacNay, who was born in Wallsend in 1785. I know that his father was called Thomas MacNay (Macknay), his mother was called Alice. They may have lived in Spittal. I believe the MacNays may have arrived in the north east from Scotland at some point but am unsure if the lack of information on Thomas Senior is because he was the first to cross the border. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
