some months back I did a trawl through the available records on line for the cullen marriages up to 1900 in the registration district of dromore west and 15 marriages came up including the one in question. On doing the same search now several of these are missing, as well as one being in triplicate.I dont understand it. I have a record of these 15 marriages should anyone require them

www.irishgenealogy.ie/en/

This is the official site in ireland where births deaths and marriages are located. The registration areas can be confusing, as county sligo has several, dromore west being for the western side including easkey, tubbercurry for the southern side, sligo for the main area and boyle for the eastern side

when you enter the site opt for the civil records. The more recent records are not available on the internet, you have to attend in person at the offices.

In Irish Genealogy, Francis Cullen is the father of the groom James Cullen who married Mary Joyce in 1873 in Easky

The mention of a Cullen line from Keighley was exciting as it seems to link into my line of Cullens from Sligo. The relevant family is that of Henry Cullen married to Bridget Culkin who had 9 children, 2 of whom died during the Famine. The children were Henry Cullen married to Mary Dyer, Patrick Cullen emigrated to USA via Canada married to Mary Doolan, Bridget Cullen married to Luke Dwyer, Peter Cullen emigrated to Durham, John Cullen and Michael Cullen - no info as yet. The last member was Mary Cullen, born 1851, had John born 31/5/1872, birth occurring in Temple House, who after staying with her sister Bridget for a while emigrated to Keighley.
I have more information on this line of Cullens, based on the townlands of Creevaun, Shancough, Carrownacarrick, several of whom emigrated to Durham in England, others to Lake, Illinois.
