Hi I am direct descendant of the shurmers the furthest I can go  back is to John Shermer fackenham Norfolk before he moved to purton I have all the names mentioned all my line Richard ,John and a William all in and around bibury withington and Cowley before one ended up in Hereford and then west Bromwich where all my family are now. I moved to Devon 10 years ago my grandkids born down here my grandson Elijah Shermer named after an ancestor planning to visit bibury and surrounding area this year to find out more don't know why my great great grandad changed to Shermer from shurmers a bit of a mystery that one
