Sally,
Thanks so much for this information!
I am really grateful for you taking the time to share it...fabulous stuff.

My sister is doing a comprehensive collection of genealogical stuff currently and would be interested to be in touch. I will send you her email address by personal message.
Thanks again and I look forward to further info after you and my sister have got your heads together!

Very best wishes,
Hils

Durham Lookup Requests / Look Up Request - Helena Logan
« on: Sunday 22 October 06 13:33 BST (UK)  »
Hello,
 :)
Is there anybody out there who can help me trace the parents of the following person?

Helena Logan, b. 29/9/1904 at 2 Sun Street, Stockton on Tees (known as Nelly)
In adulthood she was reportedly a "ladies maid" and married George Moss on 7/6/1930 at Stockton Parish Church.

I know nothing about her parents other than my dad says her father was Irish and worked for 'Dorman Long' as a Steel Erector. He apparently (according to my dad) worked (and has his name on) the Sydney Harbour Bridge. That is all that is known!!

Any ideas on how I can trace her ancestry or anyone out there who knows of a likely connection?

Many Thanks,
Hilary Brett

Pels,
LOL ;D
I for one am glad you did NOT leave well alone. I think it is all fabulous!!

Goodness, you are obviously soooo up on all of this genealogy research stuff - I am such a newbie in comparison it is quite startling!

I think it will take me a while to get my head around it all. In fact I think I need to get myself some quality time and an enormous sheet of paper, coloured pens and a tea making machine and plot it all out thoroughly...
Ooh, just the sort of thing for an autumnal wet windy day - sounds like today BUT I may need to wait for the next opportunity as today is unfortunately full of 'stuff' to do - and not nearly as interesting as this!  :(

Thanks Pels - you are lovely for doing this for me!
 :)

Yorkshire (West Riding) Lookup Requests / Look up Request for Sarah Ingleson/Hardisty
« on: Thursday 19 October 06 22:14 BST (UK)  »
Hello,

I am hoping to find details about:

Sarah Ingleson whose married name became Hardisty.
Geographical area: Yorkshire. England
Rough date: At a guess - between 1810 and 1850.

She had a son in 1861 (17/3/1861) called John Hardisty. She gave birth to him in Rowden Lane, Hampsthwaite, Yorkshire, England. Fathers first name unknown.

All of John Hardisty's descendents then seem to also be around the Leeds area, Yorkshire, UK.

If anyone has any links to her and her husband or ancestors, this would be greatly appreciated.
A distant relative has very kindly sent me descendents of the John Hardisty mentioned but I am interested in going further back if I can!!

Many Thanks in anticipation,
Hilary
