Carmarthenshire / Sarah Evans in Llanelly
« on: Wednesday 10 February 21 17:04 GMT (UK)  »
We know that David JENKINS married Sarah EVANS on 19.June.1880 and from the m/cert I have Sarah was 21 (b.1859) and a spinster. It also shows her father as Thomas EVANS (deceased) who was a Flour Merchant/Haulier. Witnesses to the marriage were William EVANS and Elizabeth EVANS.

Subsequent to her marriage, census records show Sarah was born in Llanelly and her DOB varies from 1855 to 1857, but can’t seem to find definitive evidence for her in 1861 or 1871 censuses.

Similarly, Thomas could have passed away anytime from 1859 to 1880 but can’t find a family with Thomas as head and Sarah as his daughter.

Any help with this family would be greatly appreciated.

Hoping someone can please help restore this photo of my wife’s grandfather which we have only recently discovered.

Edwin Tippings was born in 1889 and, sadly, was killed during an air raid in London on 19 April 1944.
He was serving as an ARP warden at the time and I don’t know if this was his uniform or an armed forces uniform. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance
